What's the deal?

While companies that sell food and clothes make huge profits, the people that do the hard work are often earning next to nothing. This doesn't just affect farmers and their families, it also means that developing countries don't get the income they deserve and are trapped in poverty.

Fairtrade is different!

It:

• guarantees farmers a living wage
• pays a premium to help communities develop
• gives a greater respect to the environment
• gives small-scale farmers a stronger position in world markets and
• develops a closer link between consumers and producers

In this way, Fairtrade has enabled millions of people in the developing world to lift themselves and their communities out of poverty. It's a proven method of making a difference!

What do we do?

See the Flipside is a campaign calling on young consumers to make a commitment and spend their pounds on Fairtrade. As well as buying Fairtrade, we encourage young people to get Fairtrade sold wherever you can.

We also call on companies to listen to our desire for more Fairtrade and to get involved.
